RiverFest was the best!

On June 6th, we joined HooRWA, Trout Unlimited Taconic Chapter, and North Adams Clay for a day of fun, celebration, and education focused around our river. There were fly fishing demonstrations, a river creature clay workshop, and even a river themed sing-a-long! We had such a great time meeting so many community members who want to see a revival of our river.

This event was hosted across the street from the historic Beaver Mill. As this lot is part of the route for our proposed riverwalk, RiverFest was a wonderful opportunity to explore with the community what this area could become.

HRR Board members Valerie Shields and Peter Breen, HRR summer intern Annie Art, and North Adams city councilor Andrew Fitch sit at the HRR table at RiverFest.

At our table, we had informational materials about the riverwalk, as well as flyers for our upcoming race!

One of our posters showed the proposed route of the Hoosic Riverwalk.
