RiverFest

Join us for a day of celebrating the Hoosic River! This FREE, family-friendly RiverFest event will take place on Saturday, June 6th at the Beaver Mill riverside parking lot on Rt. 8 in North Adams. The event will feature hands-on activities for all ages, including fly casting, guided river walks, craft making, fishing, water quality monitoring, snacks, and information about all three of the hosting organizations (HRR, HooRWA, and Trout Unlimited Taconic Chapter).

Special programming features include a community sing-along at 1:30 p.m., a clay animal workshop led by North Adams Clay, as well as representatives from MassWildlife onsite to teach participants how to fish. Closing the event will be a riverside clean-up from 2-3 p.m.

Attendees are encouraged to bring a picnic blanket or chair to relax by the river and to consider exploring the famous Natural Bridge State Park which is next to the Beaver Mill.

Heavy rain cancels the event; June 7th is the rain date. Updates will be posted on the HRR, Trout Unlimited, HooRWA social media accounts.

Special thanks to the Barbara and Eric Rudd Art Foundation and the Historic Beaver Mill for hosting, as well as to A1 Septic and our snack sponsors: Big Y World Class Market, Guido’s Fresh Market, Stop & Shop #0784, and Wild Oats Market.
